What is an ACA Cash Card?

ACA Cash Cards are what is known as “stored value” cards. Quite simply, that means that the money from your loan is stored on your card and you access it by using your card at a bank machine (ATM) or by using it like a bank debit card to make purchases.

Where can I use my card?

You can use your card anywhere that you see the Allpoint, Pulse, NYCE, or Star logos which includes most ATMs and merchant debit terminals.

You can get a card at any participating ACA location.

What name will be printed on the card?
|

There is no individual name printed on it.

Does my Cash Card expire?
|

There is no expiration date of the card.

What is my PIN?
|
|
Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a unique four figure number assigned to your card and known only to you. It allows you to withdraw cash from an ATM or use your card to make purchases. You should memorize your PIN rather than writing it down anywhere. If you must write it down, make sure that it is disguised and kept separate from your card.

How do I change my PIN?

You can change your pin by calling the number on the back of the card.

What if I lose my PIN?

If you forget your PIN you can request a new PIN by calling the number on the back of your card.

Is my PIN secure?
|
Your PIN is not stored anywhere on your card, not even on the magnetic stripe. The information on the stripe merely identifies you so that our systems can compare the PIN that you enter to the one that is stored in our secure computers. That way a thief that steals your card cannot learn your PIN even with a magnetic card reader.
Because your PIN is so critical to the security of your card, that it is important that you protect it. Be sure that nobody is looking over your shoulder when you enter your pin. Even if your aren’t aware of anyone watching you, it is still a good idea to shield the keys of the ATM or store debit terminal with your other hand when you enter your PIN.

How can I check my balance?

Many ATMs will tell you your balance at the time of withdrawing cash. You can also check your balance at any time by calling the number on the back of your card.

How do I reload my card?
|
|
To reload your card you need to call or visit any participating ACA location.
|
What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?
|
|
You should report that your card has been lost or stolen immediately by calling the number on the back of your card. A new card will then be reissued.

Are there any limits to how much I can purchase with my card or withdraw with my card in a single transaction?
|
|
The purchase or withdraw cannot exceed the balance on the card.

How secure is my money with a Cash Card?
|
|
A Cash Card is more secure than a credit card. Like a credit card, nobody can get at your cash without your personal identification number (PIN). What’s more, unlike a bank card, the maximum risk that you face is the amount of money stored on the card.

How do I withdraw the remaining cash from my card it is too small for an ATM to issue?
|
|
If your balance is under the $10 or $20 ATM minimum you will be able to use the card to make purchases at merchant debit terminals and receive cash back from many merchants.
